This feature is particularly useful in situations where your hands may be occupied or dirty, such as when doing household chores or exercising. With AirMode, you can easily manage your music or video playback using simple "Air Gestures," which work above your device's proximity sensor, allowing for operation without the need to unlock the device.

AirMode boasts four versatile gestures that can be customized with over ten different actions. Users have the flexibility to assign gestures for functions such as controlling media playback, launching virtual assistants, opening applications, and more.

Default gestures and their corresponding actions include:

• Hover: Play/pause media
• 1 Wave: Skip to the next track
• 2 Waves: Return to the previous track
• 3 Waves: Launch the assistant

For optimal use, consider the following tips:

• Avoid rapid hand movements, as this may prevent the proximity sensor from accurately detecting gestures.
• Practice your gestures on the "Practice & Test" page to enhance familiarity and precision.
• The proximity sensor is typically located at the top of your device, near the earpiece area.
